Whitstable is a place by the sea like no other and holds a special place in many hearts, including mine. Whenever I visit with my family we always stop for a drink at this seaside pub. Sometimes in the blazing sun, sometimes in the rain (well it is the British seaside) and sometimes at the very best time…at sunset.

I painted this with the latter in mind. The colourful sky is reflected in the shimmering liquid gold water - more gold is echoed in the pub sign and lights from the windows.
